We are looking to hear from Data Scientists, Data Engineer and Data Analysts to work on contract opportunities coming up on several different government departments. The roles will sit in multi-disciplinary teams developing and exploiting cutting edge data science techniques.
As Data Scientist/Data Engineer/Data Analyst, your main responsibilities would be:?
  • Select and use appropriate statistical methods for sampling, distribution assessment, bias and error
  • Work with other technologists and analysts to integrate and separate data feeds in order to map, produce, transform and test new scalable data products that meet user needs
  • Recognise business opportunities to ensure more efficient and effective ways to use data science
  • Develop data science knowledge, using multiple sources and share data science practices across departments and in industry, promoting professional development and use of best practice across all capabilities identified for data scientists
  • Apply data science techniques to present, communicate and disseminate data science products effectively, appropriately and with high impact
  • Use a range of coding practices to build scalable data products that can be used by strategic or operational users and can be further integrated into business systems
  • As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will design, deploy and experiment with data sourcing and integration solutions, as well as acting as a technical advisor and intelligent customer providing data-centric services.
You’ll have relevant experience in some of the below:
  • Data Science, Data Engineering or Data Analytics
  • Python, SQL, Excel or R
  • Data sourcing, integration and analysis.
  • Experience in creating, populating and optimising different types of database covering relational, graph and document databases.
  • Strong design and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of analysis across the product life cycle
  • Understanding the different phases of product delivery and can plan and run the analysis for these
  • Contributing to decision-making throughout the product life cycle
  • Working in collaboration with user researchers, developers and staff in other roles throughout the product life cycle
  • Experience working with data at scale and designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems/pipelines e.g. using Hadoop or Spark.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including communicating with non-technical stakeholders and working within a multidisciplinary team.
