INEOS Oil & Gas UK (“IOG UK”) is a fully integrated exploration and production company focused on upstream operations in the Southern North Sea (“SNS”) and West of Shetland. IOG UK also manages INEOS’ onshore shale and upstream services businesses. The Senior Production Analyst reports to the Head of Operations Support and is a key role linking Operations to the Subsurface, Commercial and Finance departments. This role takes ownership of IOG UK’s production database and is responsible for maintaining and developing it.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Maintain the production database (SQL database hosted on Azure) and the data feeds into the database. Data is primarily imported using Python scrips from csv, xlsx, pdf, and emails
  • Ensure the database is up to date with live platform data and the daily partner data
  • Expand access and visibility of INEOS production data (e.g. Development of KPI dashboards)
  • Maintain the production loss management system
  • Deliver single source, reliable and auditable production data for the business in a timely manner
  • Issue definitive sales reports to the business
  • Compile operations department KPIs
  • Assist with statutory and industry body reporting
  • Analyse production data to forecast asset performance and budget assumptions
  • Prepare for, and participate in, internal and external presentations (Joint venture partners, OGA, BEIS)
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior and less experienced members of the team
  • Manage relationships with partners’ production data teams
  • Issue production and plant status updates to the business on a monthly basis
    • Maintain the production mailbox

    Skills & Knowledge Required

    Technical skills

    • Undergraduate degree in maths, science or engineering discipline
    • Previous experience managing databases
    • Must have experience working in the oil and gas industry
    • Strong SQL and Python coding skills
    • Experience using MS Power BI
    • Experience using Linux CLI
    • Exposure to Apache Airflow would be advantageous
    • Confident user of the MS Office suite
